Agree , since you used the word " sometimes" meaning that there might be other ways of entering deeper dimension of the journey.
When we are unable to sede where we are going is like to reach the deep , to get lost in the mist.
That is perhaps a good way. But ,other way such as mediatation can also help a person going in deeper dimension. Or perhaps by miraclous incident, one coincidence with other entity from other dimension that causes the person to reach into the other dimension.
So afterall, there are many ways to enter deeper dimension of journey.

sometimes our senses decieve us and when we get there or even look back what we see really isn`t how it is. If you look at a clock face for example through a glass of water it`s up side down, a digital clock may indeed give a different time if viewed the same way (through a glass of water). It may well be on our journey that the road ahead looks full of peril and menace and we do ,as others have said, need to have faith. In our present form it is easy to doubt and if we falter ar take a detour, trust that we will get to the end of our journey some time in the faith.

If it is necessary that they be shocked and awed out of a fixed state that has become an obstacle for their growth (which doesn't happen often for many, it depends on the objectives of that life lived). But for the most part, if you don't know where you are going then its something that hasn't been earned in many ways and something that can't truly be duplicated. The objective is to enter the IBE (inner body experiences) not be be unaware of it The objective, as the old mystics said is to know thy self, to become acquainted with the deeper things, even your being pulled through the inner portal into the greater reality of being.

If we could see absolutely where we are, we would know exactly who we are, or if we could know who we are, we would also see where it is that we are. Knowing is all based upon observation, or seeing in general, with the first and foremost purpose: to know better, or to see better. But we could never observe anything absolutely, and therefore see anything absolutely correctly, only in one or more of the numerous ways of observing simultaneously. We normally come to see things comparatively when at our simplest, but then we also see things speculatively, presumptuously, ominously, predictably, personally, interpersonally or collectively, ideally or leisurely all at the same time.
It is the state of uncertainty and doubtfulness in instead of certainty and absolute faith that enables us to be within certain proximities of existence - a state of constant flux, and incessant questioning, as state, at the same time, of being the single answer to all our questions. If then there is a place for the determination of our location proper, then this is the one, the one place of innate doubtfulness illuminated by our faith, for us to see, illuminated also not entirely but only partly by our knowledge.
A state of questioning is a deep level of knowledge, to know the deeper, but to be the answer itself inknowing is deeper still.

Perhaps the only way we are brave enough to enter the mysteries is by being unable to see what horrors we may encounter. Had I known that Hell was a place where my own innocent babies would be tortured , torn up by dogs, and corrupyed, I'm certain that I would have chosen to be barren. But that's Hell for you...it isn't up to me!

Yes that’s a true statement. Sometime we have to travel in the darkest sides of our self in order to find the real light within us. In this journey fear is a loyal companion since fear conceals our greatest abilities under its dark ‘blanket’; once we learn to confront our fears we can release the immense power of will that can propel us thru the previously dreaded threshold of our inner dimensions; there where our true self resides restricted in bonds of suppositions, crippled by intimidation, incapacitated by choices we subconsciously made.

I believe you have to know where you are before you can progress. Otherwise, how would you know which way to go? You might just wind up outside the deeper dimension!

We are in other dimensions all the time. We get partial knowledge of them when we go to sleep and have semi-consciousness and dream. The goal of life is to keep a full consciousness while going to sleep, ie., stopping your mind.
