i would take Marino, Marino did more with a lot less weapons....Elway was great..dont get me wrong, but he had good recievers and a solid running game, Marino didnt

It all depends on how you define better.
From a stats point of view, Marino is by far the better QB. Remeber that over their careers, Marino only played in 8 more regular season games than Elway. 9k more passing yds, 840 more completions, 120 more td's, Marino threw for more Int's, but had a better attempt to int ratio, and the final kicker is that Marino also had the higher QB rating.
From a big game point of view I guess Elway would be 'better'. Elway had more come from behind victories, he had more playoff experience, and of course Elway has a couple rings.
If it weren't for the lack of talent that the dolphins had on the offensive line after about 1985, Marino would have had even better stats and who know what else. Not to short change Elway, I think he is one of the best QB's in the history of the game, but if Marino had the same O-Line Elway had this question wouldn't have even been asked.

Marino was better stats wise, but Elway knew how to win the game. I'd have to say that Marino was better despite not winning a SuperBowl through his career.

elway was the better quarterback
denver went to the superbowl 3 times in the 80's
and 99 percent of people cant name 3 players on those teams except for elway
to say elway had a better team is crazy

although marino holds the records, elway holds the rings. elway also held the ability to scramble when he needed to. when blitzed, dan was forced to take the sack or throw the ball away.
