At best the McCanns did leave their children on their own in a strange place and I think that is inexcusable. And I think that is the main reason why so many people on here dislike them so much, and rightly so imho.
In saying that, I think since I've started posting on here I've heard just about every theory going, some of them so far out there it beggars belief. Nobody knows for sure what happened that night, but you can't stop people saying what they feel.

I do not usually vocalise/write what i think about the mccanns but i feel that whatever happens they are guilty. They chose to leave three toddlers alone. It doesn't matter how close you are, it's never close enough. When a baby wakes in the night it wants it's mother, imagine the children waking to find no mother. A fire spreads quicker than they could get back, with the children alone they'd have no help to escape it. Children have accidents, they could have easily opened the balcony door and fell straight off it. There is no excuse, no reason, leaving your children is wrong. Why should we pat them on the back and say 'It's okay that you left her alone.' We shouldn't. They are guilty whatever the outcome. It's neglect, manslaughter if she's dead. They could have used the hotels baby sitting service yet they chose to be selfish and think only of themselves. It is unbelievable. If they didn't want to look after their children while on holidaythen they shouldn't ave taken them with them. No one should feel sorry for the parents, what they did was of their own doing. It's Maddie i feel sorry for, God knows what she's been/going through yet everyone is focusing on he parents. If the Mccanns were a typical working class family and not a heart surgeon/doctor they'd more than likely have been prosecuted for leaving their children. It's like Ben Needhams mother, she had little to no help yet her child was snatched while he was being supervised. Because she's not a doctor, does that mean she hasn't put as much taxes into the government. Then a huge campaign into one child, thousands of children go missing every year, what's so special about this one? Oh yeah, her fathers a heart surgeon. No, before anyone thinks it, i am not jealous, i am completely happy in the profession i am in but i have studied sociology and i do know how people from different classes are treated. As soon as they were classed as suspects they fled back to England. Guilt? They set up a fund a bit too quickly for 'grieving' parents, which they were then going to use to clear their name. It's disgusting. They're money hungry. What happens to that money IF Maddie is found well and alive? Do they keep it? And i'm sorry to be judgemental, but it's in everyones nature, Kate Mccann has a look in her eyes which i do not trust. I do not believe a slight piece of the manure that rolls off her tongue. Obviously the police don't either as they're still suspects. I hope and pray Maddie was snatched and taken by someone who wants a child to love but it's seeming less and less likely.

I cound'nt care less about them.
This does not mean i am uncaring etc.
The facts are simple.
The fuzz from abroard should have made them suspects straight away.In stead the madia turned up and turned it into a circus.
The madia are to blame for this mess.
As for the parents i think they both look suspect.
That does not imply that they are in any way guilty in my answer here.
Im from southern england and greatly admire my northern bretherin for there open and straightforwardness.
He looks like some bloke i no from school who was hated for being a smarmy to good to be true type.I understand he is a medical man , surgeon or something.
And his wife looks plain guilty about something. That pain an anguish in her face lloks like guilt to me.
There is something just plane wrong about them.
I can't put my finger on it though.
To innocent looking and pillar of society etc.
Maybe i am completly wrong but something about them just dosen't ring true to me.
What i am trying to say is.
That if they looked a bit dodgy looking and had tatoo's and were real working class they might have come accross as well plain guilty or innocent.
As soon as the story broke i must admit i was suspicious.
We have been told by the police that when a murder takes place, shooting stabbing or accidental death that the first people that are under suspicion are next of kin and friends etc.
They were abroard with no friend or family so by definition must be suspects no.1
I just hope this case will be cleared up soon.
And the media can go back to reporting on the size of footballers wifes bum etc.

and we are all in never never land; they left 3 children, neglected their safety; left them unattended not for an emergency but rather a good time; there were many options; take a sitter with you, a family member, have friends over, let one parent go; DON'T go ; on the very night that they leave 3 SMALL children alone, the boogy man comes in with an unlocked door??? IF not for their actions, a child would be here; I don't care about the parents, the children YES, if it all doesn't add up it is b/c it is not true ; find the child, that is the only motivation and save the other two ; what we know to date is ugly and doesn't give me any feelings that something didn't go sour on their part; we already know they have no judgment , no decision making skills for their children, are selfish and their children were not number one priority ; neglecting the needs of your children for a meal ?? come on

I don't personally attack the mc'canns, but i would have liked kate to have answered all the questions just as Justine McGuinness said that she would. I would haver liked the Mc'canns to have stayed in portugal like they said they would rather than just abandon the search for their daughter, but did a runner as soon as they were made suspects
I would have liked social services in this country to act against them in the same way as they would have done had the parents been of a lower working class, and finally i would of liked them to have spent that fund money as it started rolling in by hiring private investigators rather than when more pressure started to be piled on them.
If i was in their predicament, i would have spent the money straight away, even selling my house to raise extra money. This is just a short insight into why i personally don't like this pair. I wonder why mrs Mcguinness quit her job?

Maybe they did not kill her, but they did leave her alone. There is a little bit at fault there. I would never do that with my kids, especially not somewhere where i wasnt familiar with my surroundings. The truth is we really dont know what happened to Madeleine. We will not know until she is found. It seems that its not likley as its been so long, but lets all just hope that she is found alive. I think of her often.

Someones got to attack them for it. The police aren't pressing charges for neglect and Madeleine can't do anything because they left her alone and either A. She was abducted or B. She was killed. We could all smile and say 'never mind it wasn't your fault' but I don't agree with lying just to make people feel good about themselves.

We know what we heard. That they LEFT the 3 kids HOME ALONE and went out to dinner. Did they deserve to have their child kidnapped because of it ? NO! But this is one reason why you should not leave your young kids home alone! And the parents saw nothing wrong with doing that.

the views on here are the views of the general public some are for and some are against.
If you want it coated in sugar then go somewhere else.

The statistics show that in cases like this the immediate family should be eliminated from the investigation.Due to the total lack of evidence for an intruder taking the child...common sense makes it obvious to suspect the people closest to the child...it is a process of elimination.
