OOo.. I can answer that...I periodicly put mine to private..because some people on here are petty....and if you disagree with them or insult their"intelligence" or lack there of..they feel the need to stalk you and report every question or answer you give....BECAUSE of the loosely put guidelines if someone construes something innocent as something offensive or preverse yahoo will remove it.....So what ever you do...dont tell someone you dissagree with them...or make fun of MCR or the Jonas brothers.....or say its wrong for these little girls to be sleeping around and proudly announcing it at 14 OR ask people if they spit or swallow their gum......there's a whole lot more you cant do....this is just the general gist....

Well, I am guilty of this because I had this one character following all of my answers and questions reporting them and I'd get emailed violations from the Yahoo Team so I stopped the stalker blocked him and blocked my activity and contacts to prevent this from happening again. Sad huh?

When I first started on answers it was suggested to me by someone who had been here for a while. They told me it would cut down on any stalkers or people who like to report on a whim because your answer doesn't quite fit their opinion.

Mine is due to trolls, has cut back on the problems. Some of them like to find your questions or answers then report them even though their reporting for nothing, still causes unnecessary emails from yahoo.

Because sometimes trolls like to respond to all your questions & answers, and give you thumbs down for everything, and falsely report you as a violator.

i keep my Q&A's private because i have had stalker/troll issues in the past. there's been several occasions when people have followed me around giving me thumbs down. also, it helps with trying to keep my violations down. i'm not trying to hide anything. i'm just being cautious.

because some people go to your page and see if you have any offensive answers of questions and report you even if they arent bad they just do it! i have that happen. Alot of people do that too

Because if you have a hater stalker they will report ?'s and answers even if they are months old.
