Although him name is a lot like the Greek word ploutos which means wealth the Greek god Hades or Pluto (Plutonas) was not the god of wealth. He was the god of the underworld ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hades ). As far as I am concerned there was no Greek god of wealth...
Pluto took his name because people were afraid to tell his original name Hades and they preferred to call him Pluto because of the wealth of the underworld.

Plutus, the son of Demeter, who was blinded by Zeus so that he would distribute wealth irrespective of merit.

Also Tyche (Roman Fortuna), the goddess of good fortune. She was the one who delivered riches through luck. E.g. In one of Aesop's Fables when a man finds some buried treasure she demands to be thanked.

Hermes (Roman Mercury), was the god of merchants, traders, gamblers, thieves and their fortunes. In some marketplaces he had lucky coin oracles where people could learn how to make riches.

Also Chrysus, a son of Zeus and the god of gold.

But not really Hades, the god of the underworld -- when the Greeks say he was the god of wealth, they are talking about farming & good crops.

Plutus, god of wealth and fortune. According to Greek/Roman mythology he is charge of all the world's money and good luck, and he would distribute it according to one's virtue until he angered Zeus, who blinded him, causing Plutus to give out money and good luck at random.

That's PlutUS remember, not PlutO.

Pluto/Hades was often considered a god of wealth, probably because of the riches of the underworld (gold and gems from the earth), and the primary god of wealth at that. He was also the god of luck.
