I hit a rabbit a few days ago, and I was heartbroken over it. I know it's bound to happen eventually and I'm lucky it wasn't a deer so the rabbit got the worst of it, but still. I thought about going back but then I realized there wouldn't have been much I could do for it. I just hope the poor thing died instantly and didn't suffer.

I remember every single one of them. The very first thing was a miniature horse that was coal black and he was on a brand new BLACK pavement in a driving rain. Never saw him, but it nearly killed my car as well.
Then there was a coon hound that I nailed out in the boondocks.
A couple of deer. An owl. Yes, an owl. Couldn't help it, he was on the dirt road just over the hill and I couldn't stop when I crested it.
I hate it when it happens, but sometimes there just is nothing you can do to prevent it.

i'm sorry. i might cry too if I hit a lovable little squirrel. yet to respond to your question: sure, and it became so gross! i became driving to artwork sooner or later and there have been 2 mockingbirds interior the line. curiously they have been deaf and could not pay attention my truck as a results of fact they only sat there for the longest. I have been given perhaps 20 ft away and that they finally began to fly off. in spite of the shown fact that, the 2nd fowl wasn't very rapid and hit the windshield of my truck. Feathers and gross sticky stuff caught to my windshield! I cried my little heart out! I felt so undesirable! I had to stop by potential of a gasoline station to scrub each thing off and a effective gentleman helped me while he observed how disillusioned i became. Cheer up, it happens to easily everyone!

Yes, A Squirrel early morning. He was standing on curb at the traffic light. He waited until I had the Green light and that is when he ran in front of me.
Later the same week in the same area, I hit an opossum, It was crossing road, and I didn't have time to stop. It was dusk and I didn't see him/her until they were too close for me to safely stop.

unfortunately yes. 8 years ago I hit a wolf. I stopped and found the little pup belonging to the mother wolf I hit. We raised the pup and still have it today. It acts just like our other dogs including helping herd cows and horses on the farm

yes and it makes me sad. the worst thing is when people hit a dog or cat and just keep on driving and don't stop and try to help the animal.

A black bear ran in front of my car. It was very sad. The police had to "put it down." Luckily I wasn't driving the compact car, or everyone in the car would have been seriously hurt.

Sadly yes. Two robins were frolicking in the street. I figured birds usually fly away when you drive up to them, but these two just sat there and in my rear view mirror I saw feathers everywhere. Sooo sad. One lived and I stopped to pick up the other and buried it.
