I have this freind and he is past 40,and has done nothing for a job except flip burgers and deliver pizzas. He bought a house over 2 years ago and
lives alone. His mortgage is $700.00 per month.
He is now having so much money trouble he got
his cell phone shut off, internet cut off, cable TV cut off. Whats next.I ask him what is wrong? He says Tips are down right now. Doesn't most pizza places
charge like $1.50 delivery charge and most that goes to the driver for a tip?
I told him to get a better job,What is he going to be able to find with his kind of work experience?
I think he is doomed. Also has 20K in credit card
debt and his car is a 1991 Ford on its last leg.
It looks its going to take a miracle like winning the
lottery for him to get out of this mess. He is also
a 2 plus pack a day smoker and has trouble breathing.

Well it seems that he just didn't think about his future early where he could have chosen a good education to further himself. But if his house is more than what he needs or too big for one person maybe he should try to sell it and make some money off of it. This way he can get a smaller place and get back on his feet.

First step would be to quit smoking - that's costing him several thousand dollars a year and wrecking his health besides. And the companies might have done him a favor if the cut off his cable, internet and cell phone - if he's that deep in debt, he should have cancelled them himself.

You can't do anything about his lack of job experience, and at this point unless he's willing to go back to school or try to get into an apprenticeship program for some trade, he doesn't have much of a shot at a job that would pay much.

You can't do much of anything for him until he grows up and realizes that he has to live within his income - either cut expenses, or find more income like maybe a second job.

Why don't he apply for a job delivering other things besides pizza, plus he could get 2 jobs to help out with his monetary problems.
Maybe he'll be lucky enough to win the lottery.......

Jeez!! A lot of people seem to be able to live with debts like this. I worry about owing a couple of hundred quid on my credit card!

Don't think there's nothing you can do to help, he needs to do that for himself.

One good thing he does have going for him tho, At least he has a good friend! (it seems you're worried more about his situation that he is!)
