No Matter how you look at land forms or shapes.
if it has 3 sides of connecting water is considered a peninsula. if the land has four sides of water like Hawaii(US) or Australia and many more it is called and island.

Part of India is peninsula. Southern part which is jutting out into Indian Ocean. It is named Deccan Peninsula.

its south ,east and west are covered by water...so we can also call it peninsula.
