My auntie is in her element knitting for my baby due in Dec - just wondered if anyone knew of any sites where I can download/print designs for baby carriers - if there is such a thing? Cheers :-)

Maybe she could knit you a wide scarf to go on the outside of a sling. If the whole sling or carrier were knitted, it would just stretch and pull into a tight tube around the baby, and dig into your shoulders, and then break. Here are some sling patterns.

There are a number of sites for sewing your own sling, but I'm not finding anything for knit ones. I still use a Maya wrap with my 18-month-old; it is made from a very sturdy woven fabric. Knitting is so stretchy, I can't imagine it would make a good carrier.

I don't know of any patterns but you could use the yarn for knitting dishcloths which would not be as stretchy as normal yarn and is very strong.
