Are ferrets supposed to make a hissing noise when they are playing?? Also I was wondering how much food I should feed my ferret?? He is about 11 weeks old and he keeps dumping out his food and they say to keep his food bowl full well I would be buying food every week!!

They can hiss, but it usually means they're overexcited, like a cat would be, so use it as a warning.

I know they keep dumping the food, that's part of dealing with ferrets. If the food is still clean, put it back into the bowl, but keep the bowl away from the litter box.

sounds like we have the same thing. i have two ferrets a sable boy and a dark eyed white pattern girl. since we brought her home( a week after we got him) they do that all the time. he jumps on her and nibbles on her neck then she chases him down and plows him over. the noise u hear is a ferret noise just as a cat meows a ferret hisses, ticks, makes squeaks, and lots of other noises. they are really just playing and wont hurt each other. Have Fun and wait till they play king of the couch, chair, bed, and sometimes floor. they will start to lighten once they mature more and will start to be less territorial. Good Luck
