To make your laptop wireless you need a wirless router and wireless network card which I think comes with all Alienware laptops. To take your internet anywhere in the country, comcast doesn't offer that but AT&T does they give you a wireless network card that you can use virtually anywhere in the United States.

The speeds probably will be a little slower with wireless, but i don't notice much. I don't think it will cost any more, you just need a wireless router. I don't have comcast so i am just guessing on my answers.

Does your laptop you are buying have a wireless card in it already? If not you are going to need an external one or a PCI one.
