Ok I'm finishing up my 6yr. contract in the Marine Corps Reserve... been deployed 2 times and formed great friendships well I view them more like family.

I've been debating if I should re-enlist because not I'll be obligated to go back overseas a 3rd time if need be. Well I'm ready to accept that fact.

My bonus is only going to be 7,500 dollars which is not much compared to what other branches were offering 20,000. But I thought about it and I can not put a price tag on the memories I shared with my fellow Marines. Plus I can not see myself in another uniform besides the USMC uniform.

Do you think I'm a fool?

How do I explain this in a way that makes sense..

I'm Canadian, so I have no connection with the Marines. But...your desire to serve your country is laudable and worthy of my total respect, sir. Anyone who puts on a uniform in your country or mine, garners NOTHING but respect from me. Do I think you are a fool? Not at all, but it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. Only what you think, sir.

I do not wear a uniform (though I have served as a civilian instructor) but I salute you, and wish you all the best of luck. Sir.

In my eyes you are NOT a fool. What would you make a fool? For caing about your other family. I know how important bonds like that can be and no amount of money can replace that. If you feel that stong about it sweetheart, then you should do it. I am not going to lie and say I'd be happy, infact I'll be really upset. But again who am I to tell you not too. I think you need them as much as they need you and I know it would make you happy. I respect you so much for defending our country and just give me fair time before you leave ok? I'm going to miss you SOOOOOOOOOOOO much. I haven't talked to you in like 2 days and i miss you terribly.. =[

ps. I am upset you didn't tell me first dork.

I think it's a great idea...I can feel the pride in your words.
Thank you for the time you have already spent defending our country. Thank you again if/when you do it again.
