elderberries can be use for wine but as far as I know vintage wine from grapes..best of.the best of the year from the vinyard, like vintage car, the best in its time of the past , a vintage movie, same best in its time. How are you Arlanymor...shot more vintage question...

I don't know if "better," but pretty darn good. I like rhubarb wine too.

they will certainly be much riper & not necessary sweet & some may be bitter old things :)
