While going through my dad's stuff on his laptop, i saw a video titled 200708..... which showed him having sex with a woman, and he was around his currnt age!!! I'm 16 and I'm psychologically devastated, I can't laugh at anything he says, I can't even look him in the face. I hate my mom working her *** out for that bastard but if I tell her that would devestate her and the family. What am i supposed to do!!!!
Please don't say: you shouldn't have been going through his stuff or you should do what you feel right... Please help, I'm disgusted by seeing him!

Wether you like it or not, you have to face the fact that there's a problem to be solved, if you will not act now, sooner or later this problem will grow more and more! And there's no way you can fix it, having a problem like this wont help you if you will be silent forever. You must tell to your mom about what you saw! If you cant tell it to your mom, tell it to the person closest to you.
You just dont know maybe your mom is also looking for something or an evidence about your dad's wrong doing, and perhaps this is the right moment for you to share your problems to your mom.

I personally would make a copy of the video...(proof for later) then I would confront my father. It really should be him who fesses up. Let your dad know exactly how you feel and that you believe he should tell your mom. You dad is going to be pissed about you going through his stuff and try to turn it around...at that point I would agree that it was wrong but there is a bigger problem here now and ask what he plans on doing about it. He will probably be so freaked out about you telling mom he will tell. Which brings me back to the copy of video...if in fact he tries to pull the you have no proof bull crap you now do. Mom needs to know....mom may already know but this is something that should happen between mom and dad. Just know that no matter what happens....absolutely NONE of this is your fault. It depends whether you'll tell it to your mum.
If your mum is the type of person who's emotional and all, then maybe, don't -- not yet.
It hurts when your dad's cheating on your mum. It might make you think that your dad is not happy with your family, and start looking for others to fill in the "space".
Trust me, I know what you're going through. Except mine, I found pictureS, not a video (which really blows, man).
OR MAYBE, just to take 'my-dad's-having-an-affair' baggage off your thoughts and mental thing, your dad's a porn video maker or something. That, that video is one of the videos where your incomes coming from. And, your mum knows about it all along.

o man! what a jerk he is? don't worry i snoop through my dad's laptop and what he watches on tv. there is some dirty stuff there too...
at first i went on his tv. and locked all 'mature' programs mainly the porn.. and he went crazy! and the only shows i locked were the dirty ones!!! and obviously since he realized the password was locked it meant that he was gonna watch some more!!!! it was soo disgusting to see how angry he got that i blocked out the porn. he didnt realize that i knew what he was watching and started yelling at my mom..
what i did was i confronted him with it. and i told him that i lost all respect for him. and that it was really disgusting that he watches that stuff on his laptop and his tv.. even when he knows that my and my younger sister goes on his laptop for hw..
just tell him that you were checking your email on his laptop.. and the stuff popped up..
just tell him what you think. and say that you are VERY disgusted and don't respect him as a father anymore..that might work. ..and that youre not able to look up to him anymore. and threaten him that you'll tell your mom.. if he's scared then good...if not.. say that you'll tell his mom or something!!

Sorry hon you should never have to deal with something like this at your age.Plus your father ought to be ashamed of himself for putting u in such a awful spot. You could tell him what u saw and tell him that he has a choice of telling her first. Or u could talk to your mom.Tell her u know of a friend in your situation and ask her what she would do.Plus ask her if it happen to her if she would want to know if her spouse was cheating on her.Then u would have an idea if she would even want to know if your dad was cheating.Sometimes woman think what they don't know wouldn't hurt them and they just don't want to know.This way you will have an idea what to do. calm down if i were you i would confront him and tell him what you saw and express how you feel it's not going to be easy but don't talk to him at home go somewhere where public like stark bucks that way you won't be screaming at each other and talk like two adults and learn from his mistakes so when you get married you don't make the same mistakes.and ask him if he's having problems with your mom or did they forget what he said to her when they got married when he was saying his vowels it's about making the promise between them as a couple with GOD. look you don't have to take my advice but this is what i think .

If it was me, I would tell my mother and show her the video. (Most people have to see it to believe it.) Let your mother decide if she wants to kick your dad to the curb.

first go talk to your school counsel er, and ask them to have your mom come in school, so you can have someone there with you when you tell your mom. Don't confront your dad at all. talk to an adult with your mom there, she can handle it at that point.
