Ummmm...not sure it is a good idea to call a team that was caught cheating "America's Team". That is not something we as Americans should be proud of.
Also...Dallas branded itself America's team....not the public. While I am certain that both the Pats and Cowboys would finish high in a popularity poll right now....alot of that has to do with the fact that they both have solid teams. 5 years down the road...both those teams could very well finish in the middle of the pack in popularity if they have less that stellar teams.
America's team should be a team that America in general will root for weather or not they are good or bad. A team that people in America can relate to. The Cowboys and the Patriots do not fit this bill.

Well... I guess you could call them America's Team of today. Dallas is the original America's Team... the America's Team of yester year. You could argue that when any team is a dynasty like the Patriots they are America's Team because they represent the best in their respective sport. And yeah... the whole "Patriots" thing really does lend to the idea. All I know is that the Pats are lighting it up this year and it's great for me as a Pats fan, all the other championship seasons were great... but so far this just seems like it has all the makings to be that DOMINANT team to really put a stamp on the New England dynasty. People can scream "cheaters" all they like, but that claim just becomes more rediculous every week the Patriots win & do so dominantly. What a lot of fans will never realize is the more you disrespect the Patriots the better they play and that's the way they've alway been. At the same time though... you shouldn't say things about other teams... playful ribbing like calling the Cowboys "Cowgirls" is all playful fun, this guy still understand they are a good team. People though that take personal shots at people like Brady and the teams accomplishments are petty and just jealous. All I know is this game will be great and the America's Teams of today and yesterday... and I'd say if the Patriots win this convincely then they are America's team if not and the 'Boys sqeak one buy... they still can't claim they are that team. Though GO PATS! I got $50 on them!

As a fan of the Pats, I don't want them being called America's Team. WHen I was younger I hated the Cowboys simply because they were arrogant enough to believe they were America's team.
Let the Patriots remain as the team that realizes with each win comes next week's possible loss. I hope they never get comfortable with their dominance. Keep working hard and looking for the players that will also, don't worry about titles and fame. The wins are more important.
Go Pats, New England's team, and let everyone else wish they had them.

One game doesn't make a dynasty, and Dallas has been America's Team since the days of the great Tom Landry.
The worst thing that could happen to the NFL is for the Patriots to win the Super Bowl. Does the NFL want to be represented by a guy caught redhanded cheating? Will anyone believe that the Patriots won fair and square?
The Patriots should have been forced to forfeit their game with the Jets, and Belichek should have been suspended without pay for the entire season. If he gets a Super Bowl ring for his dishonesty, it will be another black eye on professional sports.

Y call them "America's Team"? because they are they "Patriots"? With the scandal that went down there in New England (y'all know what I'm talkin' about, 2) I don't know if you would want to give the title of America's Team to a team that was involved in such controversy either. What if we just called them "Still Undefeated" instead? I don't feel like either team really deserves such a labeling, but if you had to give that "term" to any one particular NFL team, it should go 2 my COLTS...football the way the game is to be played....without egos, scandal, or controversy. Now THAT'S America's Team playing American Football!!

The Cowboys as Americas team, come on. Were'nt cowboys those bunch of idiots who robbed banks back in the wild west and just upset everybody? Is that what they named their team after??? Come on the Patriots is americas team, the definition of patriot is someone who loves their country, and i beleve the last time i checked this country was America. America started in New England. The cowboys did nothing but disrupt everyone back then, now theyre disrupting everyone now. The cowboys new name should be the broke back mountain team. And whoever u were that said tom brady sucks, ur just jealous that hes won 3 superb bowls in 4 years and prolly will get another one this year, dumbass.
PS John Madden and Al Michaels praise him all the time.
Also, every NFL team cheats in somewhere, i garantee it, the patriots just got caught. Funny how when u say whining, it sounds alot like TO.

Logically Patriots should be America's team. If any state wanted to secede from the US right now, it would most likely be Texas, they are that independent. Not sure how you can call a Texas team, America's team.

i root for none of these two teams. but i will say what bill belacheater did hurt that team as far as some fans...nobody likes a cheater....that being said ever since i was a kid the cowboys were known as americas team... i dont quite think that now. thats so retro.....americas team is any team now..id rather americas team be a blue collar type team no matter the record, like the browns, packers, steelers...whos more blue collar than those teams...

Considering the Dallas Cowboys have been one of the top 5 favorite NFL teams in America since the dawn of time, then no.
Of course, if America is now represented by the practice of cheating to win, abandoning pregnant girlfriends, whining when things don't go your way, and all around douchebagary, then yes.. the Patriots can be "America's Team"

Ok so we want a signal and play stealing team representing our country? I don't think so. It is AMERICAN football. They should all represent as a whole. Would we ask Manchester United to be considered UK's Team in UK football? Negative! Just as in our country we have the good, the bad and the ugly...so as a whole we need to look at the big picture.
