I am looking to find a lawyer within Pennsylvania who can work in NY state also. To be specific, Chautauqua county, NY. I've used three sites to try finding a lawyer. Most send me to lawyers or law firms in Buffalo, NY. that is about a 1hr. 13min. away if you have a smooth travel. I live closer to Erie, PA. I am starting to become frustrated. My boss gave me a number for a lawyer in PA, but he is a) expensive and b) may not be able to work in NY. The reason I need a lawyer is I want to get custody of my daughter. Her mother has custody and lives in NY state. I live in PA.

Contact the local bar association.

Be prepared to drive - you appear to be looking for a lawyer that is licensed in 2 states and is convenient to you. That may not happen. To get a lawyer that is licensed in the two state - you may not be able to find someone just around the corner.
