My daughter who is not deaf learned sign language to communicate with a friend and a cousin of ours who are deaf. She then taught her closest hearing friends sign language so instead of passing notes back and forth and getting caught by the teacher...they would sign.

id love to know how to use sign langauge. oh one question though is sign language officially a language like english etc. oh and if youre deaf does that mean you cant speak. i personally think sign language is really useful

I use makaton with the children I work with and it's a very good way to help autistic children communicate.
