Surely, if there was a likelyhood of prosecution and if the punishment was sufficient, no-one would employ "illegals"?

So, the conclusion has to be that the government allows this?

They do because politicians are bought by the special interest groups.

Yes the government allows this because the politicians want the votes of the Mexican population. A huge number of illegals, dead people, fellons and a wide range of others vote at least once in elections. The Democrat party supports this and fights to allow this in our voting system. They have fought every attempt to improve our elections by having people show identification. You should read some of the court documents about voter fraud. Almost 100% of the proven federal crimes against voter fraud were Democrat party connected. This included government officials in Milwaukee Wisconsin and other places. On several occasions this included felony crimes like destroying vehicles, businesses, etc. The current governor in Illinois Democrat Rod Blagovich had thugs beat people that had his opponents sign on their lawn. Since his father-in-law Mel Renolds in a key Chicago alderman no one did anything about this. Actually they probably helped arrange this.

Just look at who the Clintons hang around with. They've had the Chinese military in the White House for coffee. Oddly enough this was during the time missle technology was sent to China. Hillary just hired Sandy Bergrer . . . . .

This appears to me to be part of the plan of globalization which will lead to the loss of national sovereignty and a one world government. There is no other explanation as far as I can see. Free trade is only taking away U.S. jobs and leaving us open to poison foods and inferior products with little hope of retribution for the victims of these products. Globalization is now the only business and college programs available.

Diversity has always been a U.S. tradition. Why did it become imperative to teach diversity here and then call people who are seeing the results of this approach as racist? We are being brainwashed for the one world government and extreme interdependency with the rest of the world so we have no choice but to accept it.

No, the government looks the other way because of the political crap slide that ensues whenever anyone tries to enforce a law that should be enforced, but would result with a loud audience of minorities and the liberal "politically correct" spewing ignorant protest on what is obviously a criminal act and therefore not open to debate.

The gov't isnt aggressively pursuing it, no question. But the lack of aggressive pursuit should not necessairily be assumed to be lack of full support.

They are millions of mom and pop employers in the US. In fact, over 55% of US workers are employed in small business (under 15 employees). It is incredibly difficult to police and oversee the number of small mom and pop employers.

It is much more complex and multi factorial than saying "Gov't allows it , they must support it".

But there is no question that there is definitely room to do more.

the federal government is at fault, you've got that right. first, they declare that it's illegal to hire illegals. then they hamstring businesses by bending over for political correctness and saying that businesses can't do what is necessary to verify how legal the worker is. there was a business near me that was desperately trying to ensure it's workers were legal and contacted the government agency responsible for determining that. they were ignored for years, then one day out of they blue the cops show up and bust the place. it was a real dog and pony show.

Why do you care ! Are you going to do any of the crappy jobs given to illegals. You are a idiot. Every election republicans, spin some topic way out of control as a smoke screen. Then stupid patriotic idiots, fall for it. Last elections it was Homosexuals. Don't be so easily conned, its government propaganda. They're trying to turn everyone against illegals. This country was made of immigrants. It's hypocritical, to wait to the country is built off the backs of minorities. To then turn them away. Mexicans, Cubans, Haitians should be able to come here if they want.
Their not all criminals. That's more propaganda dummies. Wake up ! Stop beleiving everything coming out of politicans mouths. You can't be that stupid !

For the life of me, I don't know.
Greed is my best guess.
Its practically slave labor to have your lawn and housekeeping done. Also, businesses get away with paying under the table since no one in the government is keeping tabs. Greed.

There are billions at stake. There are Republicans that look solely at the money they can make and ignore all the costs to our economy. Democrats want new voters.

I've heard of cases where congressmen and senators have contacted the Immigration Service and have warned them not to raid a particular business (i.e. large employer) in their district.
