First of all all states were given the ability to insure all children that don't qualify for mediciad years ago...The federal government just put a reasonable cap on how much you can earn and have your child covered for $5 a month...Example if you earn 70,000 a year you can afford private pay if you choose not to drive a new lease car every two years, drive a used car so you don't have payments and high car issurance the savings right there will cover health insurance for the whole family.... I am tired of people who earn 70,000 a year complaining that they need government help....I earn less then 23,000 a year and i drive a 14 year old beater, we camp on vacations and guess what my son has insurance and goes to a private school and I have never taken government help.... So quit whining about a family that can make better choices....

Let's see: Mom has an auto accident but there is no insurance money in sight, Dad owns a business and a $160,000 warehouse, they live in a rehabbed city townhouse worth a couple of hundred thousand bucks,and Mom works part time. Do you mean to tell me that these people are needy? Maybe Dad should get a job with benefits! Yuppies on the public dole! Who'd have thunk?
