new york! theres so much to do and see. and im not sure what kind of work you are looking for but it doesnt matter b/c new york has it all.
florida is also good if you are lookin for the fun in the sun. you can go to orlando and work at disney world! seriously they have tons of foreign empolyees b/c they like being well rounded and worldy; plus you get into all the parks for free. or you could go to one of the seaside cities (like miami, jacksonville, daytona, the keyes, destin, etc).
or you could try somewhere out west like LA, california.
but honestly i would stick to the east side. we are ten times better. haha.

Having lived in a number of places in the US, I have a few favorites to share with you. (1) San Fransisco - Great views, lovely weather and Super food. Close to the wine country. Very expensive (perhaps not for someone with Euros) (2) Chicago - Lovely, lively city. Full of young people and tremendous vitality. Festivals all summer long. Super public spaces with friendly midwest people. (3) Washington DC - So much to see and do. Where do I begin? Good food and superb views from every perspective. Art...history... Smithsonion(s).
With any of these, you will have a great time. If you do one, come back and try another.
