I using Maxi Cosi for my son car seats. And find them comfy for my son and better resale value when he outgrowns them (that provided if u take care the seats).
Currently using a Maclaren stroller but i found that Combi brand stroller better. My ma prefer stroller with front handle where the baby can rest his arms or hold the handle when he grows older. I would have bought a combi if i visited their show room first. http://www.taising.com/combi.html. I am impressed when i saw their stroller demo. compact and light.
Milk bottles, (if u intend to use formula) i would recommend Be free or Dr Brown's. Sale's personnel mentioned the materials used to manufacture the bottles are safer than other brands but i don't know how true was that. However,
they are good to prevent anti-colic in babies.
No need to burp the baby so hard.
At first i used avent bottles when my son was born but changed to Be free after one month. Cannot stand burping baby over the night when he wakes up for milk. sometimes it takes more than 1/2 hour before he burps. Pat until arms broken. (just kidding).
if u intent to breast feed, should prepare a electric breast pump first and bring to hospital just in case. Wear proper breast feeding Bras.
There are many resale or new baby stuffs sold on this forum attached, hopefully can save u some money: you might want to check them out.

The reason there are so many strollers is because everyone has different preferences. My advice is to definately get a stroller/car seat combo. Those are extremely nice to have when your baby is a newborn. There's no need to strap and unstrap baby from car seat to stroller, and you won't need to carry the seat around (believe me they get heavy). Beyond that, its personal preference. I've always liked Graco products. They're not too expensive, they wear well, and they are user friendly. When shopping for strollers, check out how they open and close, how heavy they are/how big they are, do the wheels lock and unlock easily?, is the stroller versatile for the baby as he/she gets bigger? How much room is in the basket underneath to store your diaper bag and packages while shopping? These are the things I looked for when my 3rd child was born. Also look for a neutral color scheme so that you can use it for future babies as well. One last bit of advice, light colors show the dirt, keep that in mind when you are registering. Although the pastel colors are cute and soft, remember that once the baby is sitting up eating cheerios and drinking juice they WILL make a mess.

Depending on where you are registering, many baby stores have classes and employees who will assist you in wading through the myriad of baby items available. Check with the store you plan to register at and see what they offer in the way of assistance. As far as bottles go, every one of them will feed your baby and there really isn't one of them better than another. My grandson, almost 6 months old, is being breast fed, but my daughter is pumping so he can be fed a bottle while she works. I take care of him. She uses the AVENT bottles. I have been a child care provider in my home for 20 years and have cared for babies who have used about every type of bottle on the market. I am not a big fan of the bottles that use a drop-in bag system, mostly because after it is used and the bag thrown away then I am left without a back up in case there weren't enough bags in the diaper bag that day. At least with a regular bottle, I can wash it and reuse it. But, the drop-in bag bottles feed the babies just fine. With the strollers, have the store assistant help you take them down from the display. Push them, fold them up, open them up and see which feels right. Basically, at the beginning, about all you'll need is diapers, wipes, sleepers, burp cloths, and a car seat. The hospital will send you home with lots of stuff, too.

I registered at Target and Babies R US, on-line. Babies R US has ratings for all of their items, the ratings are from mothers. It made it much easier for me that I was getting the right things, hopefully I did.
As far as the strollers, I agree with the lady above me. You have to go to the store and check them out yourself. I am a small person, so I didn't want a huge stroller that was going to be difficult to manipulate. Some of them are so heavy!

if you register online they give you a "list" of stuff they think you need..
also just go around and look at strollers! get one that comes with a car seat.. that's what did for my registry.
if you go in store they can give you a list too.
try walmart.com i know it's cheap but everyone can afford the cute baby items on there and there's a walmart everywhere...

A 555 timer doesn't need programming. I'm not sure what you mean by "out of the box". A 555 itself is just a chip. It needs to be in a circuit to work. The circuit determines what the 555 does. It sets the timing of the circuit, the on/off ratio, etc. It's all determined by the external components.

Before I registered, I went to target.com, babiesrus.com and other websites and viewed the items I was interested in, and most of those websites alllow customers to review that item, then I would go by the customer reviews on that paticular item, if alot of moms said it was great then I went ahead and added it to my registry.
