Go to Options -> Preferences -> Bittorrent. Under "Number of Connections," change the value next to "Number of Upload slots per torrent" to "0". Uncheck the box next to "Use additional upload slots if upload speed <90%". Click "OK" to save.

You should, however, consider how useless this service would become if everyone using bittorrent did that.

You can do this by going into options>>preferences>connection and change the maximum upload rate.

The speed of your download is proportional to the uploads you allow. So if you keep it low, the download speed will be less. If you give the value as zero it means unrestricted. Allow at least 4-5 simultaneous connection and keep the download speed to 0 (which means maximum possible) and the upload speed to around 20-30 Kb/s

The whole idea of the system is to SHARE, and if you limit the upload speed, it will also limit the download speed.

In short, you CANNOT it's written to SHARE not to "just take"

Also if you try to restrict the uploads you allow you'll not be able to use any private trackers, as they all require a minimum share ratio to be kept.

There is no harm in uploading. If you turn off your upload, you kill the overall speed of the swarm. Don't leech like that!

Your upload and download bandwidths are two seperate entities and a high speed on one will NOT affect the other.
