NO, but I think it is more hype than it is eally that exciting. Celebs don't do anything for me.

I had a day or so out there on business 8 years ago and didn't think much of it.
Sure, there's some expensive areas, but there are some pretty rough ones too, particularly in the industrial areas where the poor mexicans live in caravans / trailers by the side of the street.
Incidentally, the company that I visited had a large factory employing the mexicans, who were identified with a barcode, and they literally had to scan themselves on and off each job they did as a time management measure.
I'm sure had I have been there on pleasure I may have enjoyed it more.
I'm English btw.

I live in San Francisco, and I have stayed some in Los Angeles. Hollywood is just an LA suburb. I have been to Hollywood many times. Once, I was in Hollywood in January, and it was 80 degrees, but some women more fur coats. I heard on the TV news that it snowed in SF. I have never seen that, but i have heard of it twice. I see many movie stars when I am in Hollywood, but I also see many in SF. Hollywood is no big deal to me. My Japanese lover and her gal pals wanted to see it. Some of them want to appear in USA movies, so they hang around Hollywood some, and yhey need me as a guide and a transalator.

Go to http://www.seeing-stars.com It's a pretty good visitors guide to Hollywood. And for an introduction that puts things in perspective, read this article ("Hollywood: Myth & Reality"): http://www.seeing-stars.com/Streets/HollywoodBlvdMyth&Reality.shtml

Yes, I have, a couple of times, too, when I lived in California, but I truly can't say what it was like, because I was really young then. But the fact that I've been there more than once counts for something, right? LOL!

Yes. We did the Universal Studios backlot tour. That was interesting, but it was basically a tame theme park ride. Otherwise, the town doesn't do much for me. It's pretty plastic and phony otherwise.
