You underestimate the power and the stubbordness of Bush. The Democrats can't cut the funding because Bush WOULD leave the troops in harms way without funds and supplies. They can't pass a bill to end the war because they don't have the 60 votes needed to call for a vote in the Senate or the 2/3 rd's majority needed to override the President's veto.

Politics as usual. Nancy Pelosi can not keep her illegal immigrant staff in California in line let alone organize the Congress. She is too busy playing UN Ambassador ie: talks with Syria and the President of Iran here in the US recently over ending the war in 2008?! It starts there. Then the Senate is full of Presidential candidates who are absent, absent unless the bill includes some pork barrel fat they don't show up.
What a sham. Exactly what you can expect if you vote that way again Nov '08 ! Thanks.

They are politicians, you act like it's a surprise they lied.
I know this might sound like a rude awakening but politicians lie.
I just hope the next president only lies a little and don't turn out to be a criminal like Bush.

If you republicans stopped watching Fox and the cartoon channel you might learn congress needs 60 percent of the vote to do anything about Iraq that your lying dumb dumb got us into with LIES. But I think they need to cut off funding and bring our troops home because unlike republicans we care about the loss of innocent lives.

Might be why they have an approval rating in the 20's. It's all about getting elected. There isn't much anyone can do about enforcing their promises once they're in until the next election.

They probably figured that if the Republicans are going to lie about EVERYTHING, they might as well start too.

Nancy Pelosi is a spineless coward. They didn't lie; they were just too meek to actually do what they said they were going to do.

Even they, on some level, know that we must stay in Iraq and finish the job. They talk their talk . . .and walk the opposite walk.
