I'm not sure why they're not legal, when someone loves another person why can't they legally marry them =S
I'm not too sure about bringing children into the equation, maybe then it gets a bit difficult because you're affecting another life. But as a gay couple you should be able to legally marry

I have really nothing against Gays adopting
I just think it would be alot harder for people to understand it and accept it
I in no way believe that if a gay couple raise a child they to will turn out to be gay

If it's apparently "against god's laws" why wouldn't he program us all to be straight
You're either going to have to believe there's no god, there's a reason he didn't make us all straight or come up with a better reason
Because i surely cannot see one
Oh and for the fact we can't reprroduce, if every single person on this earth could reproduce including gays and what not the earth would be so over populated most of the world would be beneath the poverty line , so maybe that's a reason gays aren't made to reproduce

Approve, of course. More than orientation, it's gender discrimination. If men can marry women, but women can't marry women, then there you go. Same thing the other way around. Pure gender discrimination, plain and simple. If a guy or girl WANTS to marry another guy or girl, let them.
And as far as a gay couple raising children, it's been shown to 'turn out' children that are statistically identical to what 'comes out' of opposite-sex parenthood. In other words, kids are no worse off being raised by same-sex parents (and no, they're no more likely to actually be gay themselves).
P.S. It's funny how anti-gay marriage people never seem to be aware that even before it was legal anywhere, the divorce rate was terrible. Also, they don't see the irony of whining about how "sacred" marriage is, while not lifting a finger to, for one thing, try and make divorce illegal (except in cases of adultery/abuse, which is not the reason most divorces happen). When I see these people trying to make petty divorce illegal, THEN maybe I'll believe they aren't completely full of crap and hypocritical.

Well - of course I am going to say I believe that they should be legal (And in some states, they are). I would say that they should be more accepted.
Now, I'm going to bring something else you said in your question up. You say gays shouldn't be allowed to adopt children - because it affects the child, in what way may I ask? Do you think that if two gay men are married and they adopt a son, that the son will turn out to be gay? Nature vs. nurture comes in to play - and nurture doesn't have an influence on a persons sexuality - if it did, why would so many gays with straight parents be gay in the first place? Doesn't work that way - it isn't a choice, isn't something brought on by the way you are raised. You are simply born that way or not.

I think gays should be allowed to marry under the law as straight people do. What is the difference whether they live together with out legal papers? There is a legal rights difference, A spouse is the legal care taker of their partners, family can't step in and take over the important medical decisions, employers would have to let their employees put their spouses on their insurance coverage. Those are just important legal issues.
As long as we keep Gays from legal marriage we are making them different and isolated from everything they should be allowed to do under the law.

one day... in the not too distant future... gay people will get married... and adopt children... and the world will be all the better for it...the ONLY down side right now to gay people adopting children, is the straight people who make it into a big issue... kids need love, guidance and support... it's not like because you're a gay couple your going to be having these all night orgies or something and make the child work the "bar" you have in the living room next to the sex swing...

I have an adopted son & know of many other children that need loving parents... If it takes a gay couple to provide that unconditional love to a child, so be it. I'll soon be 70 & am a product of my environment & culture when it comes to gay marriage... however as a logical man of science, I see no reason to deny that to people that wish to dedicate themselves to each other.
I have always seen our marriage certificate as just a piece of paper granting some special privledges to us & increasing our taxes. However it is necessary if one wants to ensure inheritance, should one partner die prematurely.

"Each individual's journey through life is unique. Some will make this journey alone, others in loving relationships - maybe in marriage or other forms of commitment. We need to ponder our own choices and try to understand the choices of others. Love has many shapes and colors and is not finite. It can not be measured or defined in terms of sexual orientation."
Furthermore, Because marriage is a basic human right and an individual personal choice, RESOLVED, the State should not interfere with same-gender couples who choose to marry and share fully an equally in the rights, responsibilities, and commitment of civil marriage

In the bible is says it is a sin & says something about gays not being allowed into heaven. I personally do not care if 2 gays were to marry. That is their lives & their business. I think the only reason it is wrong in the bible is because God says for people to go out & populate the Earth. 2 gay people can not populate the Earth obviously.

(Or alternately, get the government out of the marriage business altogether, gay or straight.)
