Well--they're that stupid, yes. But they aren't attacking Gore as a political figure. What they are attacking is any effort to make policy changes to clean up the environment.
It's an article of faith among the right-wing that environmentalis to be discreditted. They are egged on by special interests (examples: both Bush and televangelist Pat Robertson get their fortunes primarily from oil) who know that the fossil fuel industry cannot compet with moern technology ina free market.
attacking Gore is simply an effort to discredit the science that proves global warming is a threat by attacking the spokesperson (Gore, in this case). It scalled the "ad hominum" fallacy--trying to win an arguement by attacking the speaker when one cannot refute the speaker's arguements.
and, in this case, it is also a demonstration of complete ignorance. Scientific questions are not decided by public opinion or debate. They are decided based on evidence--on observation and analysis. Once the facts are determined (as is the case with global warming) the debate is over.
So the conservatives who are brainwashed by special interests attack Gore instead. Let them--this week, you've seen how much success they've had discrediting Al Gore! :)

Al Gore is still dangerous, maybe even more so with his ignorant message about a global emergency that is based on faulty science. His film has been shown in a court of Law in the UK to have 9 errors recently. Yet, if he gets his way, we are all going to pay heavily and lose our freedoms to boot.

Al Gore, well, VP Gore is still a major player in politics and most conservatives don't agree with him. I'm sorry. But there you are.

Would Al Gore care so much about global warming if he did not own the control interest in solar energy companies.
He want to get rich , not help the environment.

I'm actually not so conservative anymore.I attack him not for his political party, but for the deception he has pulled over so many uneducated eyes.Causing needless panic and strife. He has created a religion "MAN MADE global warming"(note emphasis on man made)and declared himself the messiah. He has taken a natural phenomena, one that has happened countless times in history, mostly before man even existed, and with the same arrogance as a religious fundamentalist, has declared "it is all about man".I won't dispute global warming,it is fact,as it is fact there will eventually be another ice age.Othr global warming periods, one 7000 years ago,led to the rise of agriculture, city states, and civilization. The Vikings were pretty pissed when the last global warming stopped, making them abandon their once "Greenland".Yes,historically,
global warming cycles have benefitted man.
Granted, global warming is going to cause huge problems,as many cities are established on coastlines, and the ocean will encroach.I do not dispute that. There IS scientific consensus that the Earth is warming. There is also consensus that the Moon and Mars are warming as well. There IS NOT consensus that it is either man made nor man stoppable.By not revealing this "INCONVENIENT TRUTH" he has done a disservice to the world.Branding those that don't buy into his carbon credit hoax as "not caring about the environment"And this Messiahs followers are doing the same injustice. In their minds, equating "not believing in Al Gore"as to somehow not caring about the environment. These are two SEPERATE issues.I am passionate about the environment.I am one of those fools attempting to go Solar, when I will never recoup the cost,as currently,it is more expensive than just paying an electric bill.I care about pollution, our national parks,I don't litter. But,simply because I,and a LOT of scientists, are skeptic of the "man made" part of the global warming deal.I am labeled as not caring for the environment.Man didn't have anything to do with Global warming before,he doesn't now.Is it a problem?Absolutely.Just don't be so arrogant and decieve people into thinking we did it.Stop fossil fuels, stop emissions?Great idea.Feel guilty needlessly? Not for me

It isn't Al, it's his message. He has taken the stand that he is somehow the only politician ever to have cared, much less done anything about the environment. He politicized it, not the conservatives. He is not simply jetting about, screeching that the sky is falling, completely otu of some need to get the "truth" out.

Al Gore is stupid and so is anyone who believes his Oscar and Nobel peace prize winning, Goebbels like anti-education propaganda.
Bad information always results in bad choices.
People who make decisions based on the propaganda in "A Convenient Lie" will make bad decisions further propagating problems in the world.
Al Gore is doing more to hurt the world than Hitler did.

The Conservatives/Republicans have been rabid at raising any possible fear-mongering they can.
They know they are going out of power, they know the future is going to be Liberal/Democrat for a long time, so they are using the ONLY thing they have left ~ raising fear.
That is why they never try to offer an intelligent solution. They have reduced their rhetoric to doomsday scenarios (taxes, terrorists, Iran), while completely ignoring and/or ridiculing REAL danger (our warming planet, Bush's foreign policy, our loss of personal freedoms).

Gore has proved himself to be stupid.
He turned his back on the Clintons when he was running for President, and they are two of the most gifted politicians in the country. He couldn't carry his home state in the general election, if he had he would have won without Florida's electoral votes.
He was a great choice for VP for Bill, because he hasn't got enough intelligence or charisma to upstage either one of them.

Al Gore is the patron saint of Democrats and, now with the Nobel prize under his belt, of the liberal elite world wide.
Conservatives 'attacking' Gore, who is not 'running', is no different than Democrats attacking Bush, who is also 'not running'.
Gore is the vocal embodiement of the liberal plan to dismantle the American way of life as we know it for a more socialistic plan and the march toward a one world government. As long as Gore holds himself up as an example to be followed by the socialist drones, he is fair game, 'running' or not.
Get over it.
