Is being abruptly challenged good for you? Or do you find it bad and fight it rather than concentrating on the reason for it?

Ms Crone, NO one LIKES being forced out of their comfort zone. But it IS good for us to have that done to us, once in a while. It keeps us alert, allows us to think over our positions and shows us areas where our thinking may be a bit foggy. It shows us where we are not quite sure of ourselves so that we can go and fill in those gaps in our knowledge and background. So, while I DON'T enjoy being tossed out of my comfort zone, I do appreciate it when it happens as it allows ME the opportunity to test myself and make improvements where improvements need to be made.

Good question :) I'm a little of both really. If I can see why I'm being challenged then I try to go with the flow but until then I panic and flail around and fight it. It also depends on how I've been jerked out of my comfort zone too; sometimes one has to deal with some form of grief associated with no longer being in one's comfort zone.

Hell no, no one likes it! That's why they call it your comfort zone.

But it can be very good for you after you go through it and the feathers settle and you see that it was necessary to go through it, maybe you see that you were stagnating and a change was really for the best to keep you from having mushrooms and mold growing on your soul. I try to concentrate on why I am going through this uncomfortable time and to learn from it, knowing that the more uncomfortable it is, the more I will be stronger afterward.

But shaking off mushrooms and mold is hard, especially once you have been sitting on the same lily pad comfortably for a while and don't feel like leaping off into the cold waters just to learn a life lesson.

No I do not like being JERKED out of my comfort zone. Sometimes I go kicking a screaming (emotionally) - holding on to the things that I know.
But later I realize that the new is not sooooo bad after all.

Perhaps no one in the world is going to like being jerked out. But when it is a challenge, one ought to accept it and fight.

No, I like to be slowly led out, but big changes always happen suddenly. Everyone likes comfort but when the old ways stop working it's time to enter the unknown. What is good and bad?

That which doesn't kill you makes you stronger. Abrupt changes in your level of comfort produces stress. It also will enable you to tap dance when the spot light is upon you.

While I don't consider an endless spate of being 'hung out to dry' as either fair or warranted by any body ... the occasional brick wall encounter will only improve your competence in general.

Just be glad you don't have to teach at a technical college for someone who thinks your schedule is her impromptu whim.

I hate being out of my comfort zone, but that is the only way that one can grow as a person.

Opposites entice. Who knows what could take position, you may fall in love and get married in the destiny. yet how are you going to understand until eventually you supply him a threat? as well, i don't believe of you should choose him on the position he's from and what he's had. it truly is like him declaring he gained't date you because your from the country. those are your roots yet they ought to not be counted in love. supply him a threat :] who knows what could take position.

It depends on how much fun the circumstances I am being ripped out of are compared to the new circumstances.
