4.5 billion years old is a science estimate of Earth.
It start the formation of the universe which is Earth is part of.
9 thousand years old according to the Bible. 7 thousand years B.C. and 2 thousand years A.D.
It depend how you present your project and who are the recipient.

Creation of the Earth according to the Bible and formation according to science there might have a common ground.

The Bible is actual fact that is written in conversations with the Creator and prophets/writers. Man cannot comprehend Creator's intelligence. Man get instruction according to his capacity to understand. Creator uses days instead of thousand years or billion years to met the actual counting based in human understanding. Man uses the word create because he cannot comprehend or understand the words formation of gases to form the earth.

The science is basing on theory. Their understanding is limited without the support of facts. Christian scientists believes that the Creator gives them mind to think, inspired them and help them to understand how the Creator organized and form the right elements for the Earth to be habitable for lifeforms.

Although non believers scientists will not agree with the Bible facts still they might agree that the right elements formed here on Earth are the right elements that can be sustain living things.

After studying Bible chronologies, Bishop James Ussher said in the 17th Century that creation was in 4004 BCE. Other Bible scholars tried the same Bible study and got figures of about 3760 to 5855 BCE as the date of creation. Modern scientists find by several means that agree closely that Earth is 4.5 to 5 billion years old.

4.568 Billion years old
It has been measured from the decay of radioisotopes of uranium and lead in calcium-aluminum inclusions or CAI, tiny fragments of the rocks that first formed in the solar system. It is not that they think. The Earth IS 4,568,000 years old!!

There are lots of ways to estimate the age of the earth.
All or them rely on assumptions.

Most give a young age for the earth (contrary to popular evolutionary opionion).
For example
The decay of earth's magnetic field.
The existence of short lived comets.
The amount of salt in the sea.
The amount of dozens of other minerals in the sea.
The recession of the moon.
Recorded history.
The rocks in fact look young - coal contains carbon 14, there are many tightly folded strata, indicating the rock was deformed while soft, polystrate fossils (fossils that cross layers that are allegedly different in age by millions of years)

Check here for loads about evidence for a young earth.

Further, the radiometric evidence used to claim that the earth is old is flawed.
Rock that is known to be young (Mt St Helens volcano) is dated as million of years old!
Check here for loads about radiometric dating

Remember that the age of the earth is not a scientific issue for most people, it is a religious one.
Evolutionists have pushed the old-earth ideas since evolution 'requires' billions of years.
Creationists believe that the wolrd was created recently (6000 years ago). Much of what we see now is a result of the Global Flood.

We all have the same evidence - it exists in the present. Just different assumptions and different interpretations. Check things out for yourself. Examine the evidence. Examine people's motives and their assumptions.

Well if you go by what the Bible says . . . Jesus was born about 2000 years ago and before him being born about 8000 to 9000 years or so . . . so maybe not as old as people may think.
