No, but I have a ten-foot pole rule. The things I wouldn't touch with a ten-foot pole are:

1. Desecration of any traditional holy object.

2. Making deals; negotiations and pacts.

3. Practices involving any threatening, manipulation, cursing or revenge.

4. Use of another's belongings or image (clothing, hair, fingernails, blood) WITHOUT THEIR PERMISSION.

Example of "getting permission": when my son was going to have surgery, I performed a protection spell which utilized a photograph of him on my alter--he gave me permission, and was present during the ceremony. After the ceremony, I kept his picture on the alter (with his permission) with a votive candle lit. It remained lit during the surgery and recovery period. Even when I do long-distance healing with Reiki symbols, I get permission from the person--I ask, "May I place healing Reiki symbols over your photograph?" If the person would say "no" I wouldn't do it. I would still send them positive energy. . . put would not perform a ritual per se.

5. Using a language or symbols I do not fully understand.

That would depend on whether I was using a "Bo" or the short version of the "Naginita". To which are You referring?
The 'Bo' is a 6 foot long wooden staff, or bamboo pole, used in martial arts. The "Naginita" is likewise a wooden staff or pole measuring either 6 or 8 feet in length but with a curved sword-like weapon at one end. But were used for personal close quarter combat weapons by the Japanese Samurai warriors.
I would not touch a friend with one.

Emo rednecks. Lots of them in this area. Gotta be careful. And Ashleigh, I think that I'd be more comfortable with the jo staff, being a little short. Never could do much with a bo and I never made it to naginata training, although it sounded really cool...

Heroin. Human waste. A fundamentalist preacher. A terrorist. A female who is currently running for president.

Now, a six foot (or even shorter) sword, on the other hand . . .
