It will take some time in order for your cycle, and periods to become regular. As for foods making periods lighter? I have never heard of one.

It's nothing serious because I had the same problem and worse, what it usually is that you have a hormone inbalance so thats why your P won't be the same as your friends who's could last 3 days I've know people who had theres for a month and don't get it for 6 months at a time if you have a problem with getting rid of it quick drink lots of water and exercise often that helps alot

Meats and fatty foods tend to add cramping and odor to your discharge: while things that don't make you fart (not trying to be gross), don't as much. If you are afraid of those sorts of things then consider going veggie 2 weeks out of the month but avoiding brocolli and kale. Pineapple helps with swelling and any bodily discharge smell; having enough calcium and protein aids in reducing cramping as does exercise and raspberry tea (the hot kind); in general if you get what your body needs in the way of nutrients and excercise then a period can be fairly tolerable (never really pleasent) as well as manageable. Speak with a GOOD physician (not just the family one, but one tha tdeals with reproductive health) and/or a naturopath/herbologist: they should understand your concerns and not just pass off fliers.

I haven't heard of any foods to make periods lighter... the best thing to do is to go on google, and just do a search there!
One thing that makes you feel better on your period is chocolate!! It has been proven. I have the worst time of the month, but chocolate makes it all better! When you fist start your periods they are heavy, but wait a few years then they will settle down...

I think because you just started your period it's gonna be like that, but the more you have it, it'll change.
