Today if you want to learn about african history you get taught about colonization and bushmen and all those other boring stuff like how many pairs of shoes does the queen of england have. How come we never get taught about the nubia, ghana, nigeria, zimbabwe or all those other countries which were ruled by great black queens and kings. We just get fed lies and they expect us to believe their theories. Today if I want to learn more about my history I have to go on the internet or dig up books. Shouldn't this stuff be taught at school? Why do I feel like some pepole dont want us to learn about our true history.

Well I live in south africa and am doing my 2nd year in the university of cape town, so really that wasnt helpful but thanx anyway.

I also grew up and went to school in South Africa. We were told the biggest load of rubbish. I would have thought now that awful apartheid was gone, they would teach African History.

They base what we learn in history to what they think is important. If you were in Africa you would learn that. Each country is going to teach different history.
I am sure in college you could take some courses on it. But to start they want you to learn about mostly everything that relates to America.
It's not they don't want you to learn it. It's that it isn't necessary for you to know here they may believe.
But good for you that you don't let it limit you learning about it.

becasue they dont want to teach genocide and corruption . in college they will teach you about waring tribes and the winners selling the losing tribe into slavery. African americans dont want to be known . i live outside of cabinda angola . africa the history is very dark . they dont teach it here, they want to forget and move on .africans dont even consider americans africans . they will never know about our red dirt and what it means
