ok..first of all not everyone requires full 8 hrs of sleep to work to a maximum potential...but you would still like to get 8 hars of sleep u can try the following:
1:get into bed early and listen to some soft soothing music.
2:a warm bath just before bed helps to relax your muscles!
3:read befor u try sleeping(works for me..the minute i open my textbook im asleep!!!)
4:make sure you eat atleast 3 hrs before bedtime..a light dinner helps u sleep better and prevents u from putting on weight!
5:make sure your bed and pillows are of a good quality..tuck yourself in,find that one comforatble position and go to bed!

You consider 1 am late ? I never sleep before 2:30 am and wake up at 9. The thing is I don't want to sleep early. I love the night time and I wouldn't want to waste it sleeping. Sleep 8 hours a day ? I don't think so. That would be like wasting one third of your life sleeping. So, if you live to be 65, you'll have spent 22 years sleeping. Can you imagine that ? What a waste that would be. They say sleeping early means living longer ! Well, hello. What's the point of living longer if you're going to spend third of it sleeping? Nah, I'll just be happy living till 50 staying up late than 60 sleeping 20 years of it. That would be like living only 40, isn't it? Kind of stupid on the part of the so-called researchers. But then, do these idiots ever come up with something that makes sense ??

One method of sleeping earlier in the night is to get into bed and to run over all your days activities in cronological order. if the thought that comes to your head is a negative one, skip it, if it is a positive one, aknowledge it and meditate on it for a bit of time. Usually u can get to sleep b4 u get to midday, (unless u happend to sleep in and ended up getting up afterwards). If this dussnt work, u might hav to turn towards using some sort of mediaction(no that i'm calling u crazy or anything) that is used by insomniacs. Hoplefully u wont need to.

no easy fix for that. you have to make yourself go to bed earlier and earlier each night until you get enough sleep. I read at night too but only for a half hour and your body gets used to a set schedule and you fall asleep easy. i am up every day at 6 a.m. too

If you can't sleep when you need to, you just lay on your bed then close your eyes and count with your mind "1sheep 2sheep 3sheep 4sheep......." and you will fall asleep, that works for me!!!
