Bush comes across as a fool, and maybe he is.
But what if thats the persona he wants to project.
We all think Iraq is a mess, but to Israel and friends its a big success, with world fear and hatred towards Muslims, together with Muslims killing Muslims in Iraq.
Maybe crazy like a fox?

Are you actually putting it in writing that what is going on in Iraq is a success for Israel? Are you asking us to believe that this is the proof we need to show how well Bush's strategy in Iraq and the middle east is working? Do you realise that what you are affirming is that we began the war and continue in it to our great detriment at home and abroad for Israel's interests and NOT our own? That our armed forces are deployed abroad on foreign soil to fight another country's war? Not a single Israeli soldier is fighting in Iraq. Why then are we?

I ,and many like me, have been complaining that this is precisely the reason we went to war against Iraq instead of focusing on clearing up a horrible crime commited in our country against our citizens! We have accused the neocons in the government of following Israel's foreign policy(Ariel Sharon said in a public speech on Sept. 12,2001 that the U.S. should make war on Iraq ) and not our own. For this, for demanding that our government look after U.S. interests FIRST & FOREMOST we risk getting the antisemitic label thrown at us.

Whenever the acusation is made that the U.S. identifies Israel's interests and needs far too closely with those of the U.S. ,it is hotly denied. You are the first person I have read on here who actually admits that this is indeed the case.

To answer your question, Bush comes across as precisely what he is. That ain't no persona he's projecting.( he probably thinks the word ¨persona¨ in this context is ¨Mexican¨ for person)

He is advised by a team of crafty, wiley neoconservative ideologues with two over-ruling agendas: Israel and hegemonous U.S. dominion of the world in the form of a Pax Americana. To maintain this world order the U.S. will have to be willing to maintain perpetual war somewhere in the world at all times.

Perpetual war requires perpetual spending. Perpetual war signifies that governments will make ever larger grabs for power, ever larger erosions on our individual freedoms, ever longer suspensions of basic rights guaranteed by the Constitution until this charter becomes a meaningless piece of parchment.

You know,my Labrador is smarter than Bush, but then my Labrador is smarter than I am too. I'd rather have my Lab in the oval office than the present office holder. The only harm he might cause is to the carpets, not the country.

Well if it is the persona he wants to project then it isn't winning him any friends so why would he want to project that persona? Is that how he and the people of the US want their President to appear - a fool?

On his recent stop over here in Australia at the APEC summitt, he referred to our troops as 'Austrian' troops and said it was the 'OPEC' meeting he was here to attend.......then he couldn't find his way off the podium he had only just stepped onto. He looked and sounded like a complete idiot. And the perception is that if he is your leader......what are the rest of you like? I can't think what benefit would have been derived by anyone from such a pathetic performance. It certainly didn't win him many friends here. We don't like being called 'Austrian' especially when our troops are fighting in your war.

I don't understand this 'persona' excuse except that it stops those who support his administration from admitting that you have put yet another moron in the Whitehouse. I think almost anyone is smarter than Bush. Anyone in his position would know that it is required that they show at least some semblence of minimal brain power.

If that's the persona Bush wants to project, then he is very good actor; probably better than Reagon! But, reality strikes every four years even in United States... and that time will come next yearend, for sure. Unfortunately, the sufferer this time will be the party Bush represents, not he himself.
So, don't call him crazy like a fox. He is mad like a dog... a dog poisoned, bitting everyone... almost!

Not only am I smarter than George W. Bush, I'm more talented and better-looking, too. I'm more patriotic, more freedom-loving, more peace-loving, and more concerned for our future than he is. I'm more fiscally sound, more dedicated to a just society, and more environmentally friendly. Finally, I'm even more humble than Bush.

He's not intelligent enough for such duplicity, although I will hand it to him for fooling *real* conservatives into thinking that he was a "conservative Republican," because he hears voices (God talks to him).

I don't give a damn about Israel. Never did; never will. I just don't care.

It's not maybe. He really is but he's got the name Bush and in any election in the US, it's name recognition. Cheney is the puppet master, together with all his cohorts.
