Does time exist outside the mind?

For every living thing time must be a reality. I try to understand it by thinking of momentum. If you shoot a bullet into space it will never stop unless it hits something. Time, or rather when everything started, was also "shot" into space (Big Bang).

Now if Time "hits" something maybe they will call it "The Big Crunch" the momentum will be broken and the universe will cease to exist

A lot of people talk about dimensions, for example in the fourth dimension You are there before you have left.

This is beyond my comprehension, so I'd rather keep to my momentum theory it keeps me sane.

Anything is possible. I read somewhere that all of time exists as a single thing. The human brain constructs a slot through which we view and experience a small chunk of it; our perception moves 'forward' in what it understands (and manufactures) to be time. The little section that we understand to be reality is just our reality, and only a small part of a constantly existing whole.

Those are two separate and distinct ideas. Yes, we perceive time, but your second question leads me to believe you meant to ask "is time a concept"? Yes, it is a concept, also, and no it does not exist outside the mind. Rocks and gasses are part of eternity and except when explaining them in human terms of percepts and concepts, time does not apply to them, nor for them.

Absolutely. That is why time flies when you are having fun and drags when you are bored!

I don't believe that it does exist outside the mind, although I don't believe that most of what we perceive of as "reality" exists outside the mind either.
