Yes. There was a Mexican radio station here (I live in San Diego) that would play spanish-language rock as well as english-language rock. I began listening to this station during my college years. They played music from all over the world.

Unfortunately, this radio station changed format, and I never learned the names of many songs or the groups that sang them. I've tried looking for some of the songs on the internet by searching for lyrics, but I've been unlucky.

For the groups whose names are known to me, I bought some of their CDs (compilation CDs).

It's a point of principle. My most recent compilation contains music from Colombia, Sweden, Belarus, Croatia, Australia, India, Congo, Spain, Senegal, Iceland, the USA (I'm British), Canada and Latvia. The world is too interesting to stick with local music.

I'm a Canadian who works in a Caribbean restaurant. Every night I'm listening to their music. When on my own, if I come across it, I won't turn it off.

When I was in Afghanistan, I spent almost two hours listening to a little show in a hotel in Kabul. I was captivated. It was probably the best live music I've ever heard.

Music, as a phenomena, KNOWS no cultural boundaries. I have heard beautiful music from ALL kinds of sources and cultures and have grown to appreciate the beauty of music, no matter WHERE it originated.

I like to here - as to what other cultures listen too...

To me - my opinion - Is that music is a language all it's own. It can spread a wealth of emotions to others that governments can't control....
