He is terrified. He does not want an election and that is that! He will only call one when he has no other option. He has painted himself into a corner because interest rates are going to go up again in November and if he leaves the election until January next year people will not be happy about having to vote on their holidays. He has to have it before Christmas and that means the interest rates will go up smack bang in the middle of the campaign.
He is waiting for a miracle and there isn't one showing up yet. He is running scared but his time has come.
