It has sounds, water, smell, etc all around you, like you will actually be sprayed with water, and can smell cotton candy, or popcorn or whatever is in the scene at the time.....

I don't know about it being one of the first, maybe outside a theme park. Disneyland and California Adventure have had them for years. The ones at Disney are 3D movies. You get sprayed with droplets of water and get the smells. The seats are rigged to poke you or you will feel things crawling under you. They are great and a lot of fun. Go, you will enjoy the experience.
