Depends on your definition of "alien existence". If you mean life of any sort, then the answer must be yes, by definition. If you mean intelligent life, then there is not necessarily any connection between that and micro-organisms.

It would prove the existane of 'alien existance' but not necessarily prove 'alien origin' of that life.

We have recovered meteors that had their origin on the moon and on mars. These were sent here when impacts on those worlds sent the material off their home world and to ours.

Some extremely simple life forms could theoretically survive such a journey if the impact began on earth and landed on mars.

So that 'matian life' may have had its origin on the life abundant world next door.

Although alien life forms must exist in all parts of the universe, the discovery of life on mars would be a giant leap forward in our theories about extra terrestrial life.
Would DNA be a factor and if so does it differ much from ours. To be continued!

It would be proof of extraterrestrial life. But that's all. OTOH, if extraterrestrial life is shown to exist, then the chances of there being intelligent life-forms 'out there' just got another couple hundred 9's to the right of the decimal point ☺

if you define life on Mars as 'alien' then yes.

if to you, 'alien' means the Romulans, the Nimbari, or those cute grey guys that anal probe hillbillies, then 'no'.

a watershed test of the likelyhood of life in extra-solar space would be finding organics on planets or more likely moons outside the orbit of Mars.

there are good reasons for this... maybe tomorrow.

i presumed I heard them say they chanced on ice in minute proportions in a rock they examined. that must be purely frozen moisture from the air? i'm no longer keeping my breath approximately what they locate on Mars, this is a huge waist of funds for what purpose?! Why do no longer they use that money to construct extra oil refineries and to start drilling on American soil.
