Honestly? I think you just have to remember what's important and stick to that.. if you give in to temptation, that important thing will most likely be ruined or go away. There's temptation everywhere, but so what? If you know what you want out of life, and you know that it's important to you, then that's all that matters. Just talk yourself out of whatever it is, if applicable, talk to your best friend about it at that point, and after.. that always helps me (my best friend or my mom, too). The first comment was right, you do need some sense of self control.. but it's more than that. You just have to talk to yourself about which path you're taking and why, and just focus on that. Good luck! :o)

Christian Religion. Going to a good church. I don't own a Bible, but Damn the stuff I learned from a good Pastor is great. You'll want to start out about learning about Jesus. It was kind of like learning about History at 1st. Then it all made sense to me. You'll need to make sure to find a good Pastor that explains stuff. I always believed, but I also had a lot of questions which is normal. They can explain it all. Give it a try. After one month you'll notice that all aspect of you life will change.

It's impossible. We can't! There is no way we ALONE can live near temptation and not give in. But are you ready for the secret?
With God all things are possible. Those things which are impossible for man are possible with God. Include him in your life and you will answer your own question!

Self dicipline, as answerer # 1 said. Also described variously as having "backbone," moral fortitude, vision, a goal, self restraint, etc. It requires knowledge of one's own values and purposes. If you value the things that temp you, there is no contradiction in accepting the temptation. If you do not value them--at least at this moment, like to watch tv instead of doing homework, then you need to understand your values and purposes very clearly and use your sense of integrity and character to avoid them.

well, when you feel temptations around you then you've got to follw your head and try to resist that temptation.
i tell you its not easy because you can just decide to follow your heart and later on regret it. you've got to get hold of your will power and refrain yourselve from doing what you dont want.
all the best, Halima

Start hating what temps you.
If one person HATES watermelon - no matter how many times it is sit in front of them to eat they can turn it down with out a second thought.
Some people's temptation is smoking, lust, drinking, eating and so on.
