The problem is im not sure on how to do the room aspect, do i write the rooms from (say if there are 200 rooms in the hotel) 1 to 200 and put he status on 'Free' wouldent that be wasting space? any other methods !?

thanks loads.

You're on the right track. The yes/no switch would be vacant / reserved / occupied.

hi,
There should be a Room Master form in ur s/w. This form should get room description like Room No, Room Size, Category, Rate, etc. Create a table in database to store this info from master and should has a field status for vacant/Occupied. If occupied then details of customer can store in a different table with the relationship of forienkey of roomid.
Each form in ur s/w should hv facility to add, delete, edit, find, and Print a report for a given criteria.
Add 1-200 rooms in room master and use these rooms for transactions.

Hi,
I feel you need to create a master table of rooms, with a primary key of room no, which should proivde details like no of beds in a room, AC/Non AC, Net Available, Type of Room Luxury / non Luxury etc. This should answer your concern

.Good project I am starring your question. Are all the rooms the same size and cost. If not try putting them into size and cost categories. (single, double, suite, etc...) Then you need to decide how far in the future you want your program to go 1 week, 1 month, 1 year, etc... GOOD LUCK
