We are in the desert and we would like to have cold water but our water keeps freezing in the freezer. Is there a way to keep it from freezing?

Keep the lid open. Add salt? (not practical, but would keep it from freezing) Keep the water moving somehow. That's all I can think of. OH--the desert! That's the clue. I think the sand can be used similarly to salt. The sand crystals will (I think) keep the water from freezing. I know that you can put either sand or salt on ice to melt it...Add sand to the water!

Just make ice in the freezer, and when you're ready to drink cold water, add some of the ice to it to chill it quickly. Voila - cold water.

... salt water freezes at a MUCH lower temperature than pure water - you might want to try filling your balloon with that. (Although, I'm kind of baffled by how you're expected to only freeze HALF the water in the balloon.)

ut it in the fridge instead I have just come back from tenerife and I put my water in the fridge and set the dial to 4 the water was lovely

put your water in a vacuum thermos. Add a bit of salt to your water would help too.
