i am 34 weeks prego and it seems that whenever my 6 month old neice comes over to spend the night my baby in the womb starts moving around a rolling around like crazy...my mother says it's because she knows my neice is there and wants to play...but I think it's because all I do is talk baby talk while she is there, could my baby be responding to this?

Interesting! in a very spooky way - Happy Halloween!! - Just Kidding.

I have heard that fetus in the mother's womb is aware of its surroundings outside its mothers womb. It is very probable that they hear the sound.....does your niece talk very excitedly? Maybe it is you....you are more excited when she is around.

Have you read the "Mahabharata", it is an epic story from ancient India. There in that epic is the description of the father narrating a strategy to the pregnant mother, which is being heard by the foetus!!!.

So be careful about what you expose yourself to....you could be exposing your baby to it as well!!

On the other hand, it is a very facinating phenomenon.

It's highly doubtful that the baby in your womb is even aware of what play is all about; nor is it likely that the baby talk has an effect. But if you're talking baby talk in a high voice, that might be stimulating your unborn child.

possible. i think that is called a mental telepathy. also whenever you have a baby talk to your baby inside your womb he/she responses by moving. my sister in law also experiences this phenomenon.
