You people have the 5 wins in a row thing wrong. The Rockies just broke the record for wins from the start of a post season by a WILD CARD team. Many other teams have won 5 games in a row.
Remember, the Red Sox won 8 in a row in 2004 - the last 4 in the Yankee series when they were down 0-3, then they swept the Cardinals in the World Series.

nicely the AL East and wild card is tremendously lots settled till the purple Sox have an outstanding tear pondering a million/2 the group is lacking as a results of harm. The Jays and the Oreoles are tremendously lots lost reasons. as a results of fact the Yanks and the Rays are the two the terrific suited 2 communities interior the completed MLB one will win the branch and the different will win the wild card. at the instant the 2nd place group interior the wild card are the purple Sox and that they are 7 video games out. there is of project they could bypass on a tear, yet pondering their injuries, that's not going. third place group are the White Sox and that they are 9 video games out. which would be puzzling to bounce returned from at this element interior the season. so as quickly as a results of fact the 2nd place group interior the AL wild card are so far returned that they can't capture up, the two the Yanks and the Rays would be going to the playoffs. and that i think which would be desperate somewhat early my wager is they are going to be the 1st 2 granted spots. that's in basic terms an issue of which will grab the branch and which will grab the wild card. interior the west although, the Rangers have a company lead over the A's with 9.5 video games. they o.k. could desire to be the 1st to be granted a playoff spot. the powerful stands out as the final to be desperate as a results of fact the White Sox are in basic terms 4 video games out of the 1st place Twins. Now the NL, it truly is a little extra durable. the divisions are lots closer, although interior the powerful, The Reds are 8 video games earlier than St. Louis. they're going to probable get into the playoffs first interior the NL. the different divisions are too on the brink of call. I also have a feeling the Wild Card stands out as the final desperate group interior the NL so those are the possibilities for first playoff spot. Yanks and Rays (on an identical time when you consider that their playoff start is in line with how far out the 2nd place group on the wild card are), The Rangers, or The Reds the final branch which will come to a decision a playoff spot will probable be the two the west or the wild card. it actually relies upon on if the Giants can over come their 3 pastime deficit on the Padre's. and if the Phillies can shop their a million.5 pastime lead of the Giants interior the wild card.

The Rockies are now tied with the 1976 Cincinnati Reds for the most post season wins in a row. What a legacy!!!!!
FYI, The reds won the championship against the Yankees.
The Rockies may be the first to sweep everything, at best, at least they will win the World Series. With this kind of momentum they are unbeatable.

Only the second time a postseason team has won five in a row from the beginning of postseason play, joining the 1976 Reds.
-----
Feh. That's what I get for relying on the tv mediots. Want an accurate answer, look it up yourself....
1970 Baltimore Orioles -- 3-0 over Minnesota in ALCS, won the first three games of the WS against Cincinnati, so that's a six-game streak from the start of postseason play.
1971 Orioles -- 3-0 over Oakland, won first two against Pittsburgh, 5-0.
1976 Reds went 7-0, we know this one.
1999 New York Yankees -- 3-0 against Texas, won first two against Boston, 5-0.

Prior to 1969, it was easy. Of course, there was only 1 round!
1976 Reds swept the Phillies (NLCS 3-0) and the Yanks (WS 4-0) when there were 2 rounds.

and dont forget Boston Red Sox is still undefeated going into Game 2 of their series against the Indians. so there's a big possibility that two undefeated teams will slug it out for the World series
