No the behavior has to be present pre game for game to have any influence, a young person well loved and supervised ,with more than video games in their life, will always be able to separate game from real life
A person who isolates and is allowed to make unreality his domain will still not be violent just from repetetive play. Regular TV in prime time or watching the news you see unrealistic violence as well as real horror and we still aren't as violent as the Romans feeding people to the lions for sport or as blood thirsty as a hanging part mob or a couple of frightened New Englanderchurch elders burning witches.........
I do however believe child abuse of any kind can lead to unknown dephs of violence, depravity and the like.....Hitting your child teaches that hitting is OK when it is NOT, that type of situation where fear is learned and power displaced ,now that can make a world class psychopath,Can but does not always.....

Nope. Actually no. Video games are outlet of kids now a days instead of doing it in the real world giving out their frustration, thank God, we have video games instead.
But some video game corporation are being monitored by other agency to tone down their violent games to the minimum, like this one called MANHUNT, which they have part two. I played it personally, too much gore and violence I should say but I LIKE IT, would certainly love to play the second part. But do I have a violent tendency towards other people, NONE whatsoever. Maybe it is depending on the persons breeding or where he came from that is the issue not the games.
In the school of thought, they figure out that violent behaviour is either- from inherent from the parents or from his environment. The first one, if the father is an ex-convict, probably the son will follow in his footstep of being one. The second one which is the environment, if one person happen to live in the most crime infested town, one way or the other the kid would grow up to be one of the street gangs. This is still debatable. So pick your choice not the video games.

I don't think video games cause violent behavior in most people. Alot of people, guys like me in particular love seeing destruction and bringing it about. Destruction, demolition, anhilation. They're guy things. We love blowing things up, taking things apart, pulling apart the fabric of society. But you'll notice that even though many guys enjoy that, we all know and acknowledge that there's a time and place for those things, and that is in video games, or pulling apart and destroying already broken radios and TVs.
You don't see guys going around demolishing people's radios when they are still a wanted posession.
But I think some people are unusually heavily influenced by this, and therefore it does cause violent behaviour. I believe that everything you experience influences you, even if just a little. Some things are more of an influence than others, like the actions of a family member such as a father, mother, brother, or sister.

In everyone? Certainly not. However, it is possible that playing violent video games might instill some desire to engage in violent behaviour for a small percentage of children. Video games are a relatively new cultural phenomenon and I think more psychological studies are necessary in order to come up with a sound conclusion as to whether or not they could inspire violent behaviour in some. But personally, no I don't think the idea can be given very much merit due to almost zero evidence in support of it.

only if the video gamer is gullible, stupid and easily influenced.I think violent behavior is a combination of personal and societal influences. It doesn't justify their behavior or crimes though.I think video games should only be used for entertainment purposes, similar to listening to music with violent lyrics.video games take people into a fantasy world, such as having superhuman powers, but some take it too seriously and actually try to copy it in the real world or maybe they already do those things and using the games as practice(an example would be GTA:Grand Theft Auto)those people have major issues.

I think you answered the question yourself.
I don't know that video games by themselves cause violent behavior, I think some people may have a tendency towards violent behavior and violent video games have a way of pulling that out of a person. On that train of thought, some people think that violent TV shows cause violent behavior. I think the same could be said in that TV can draw out the violent behavior in people with a tendency towards violence.

This is absolutely rediculous. Video games do not cause violent behavior. People who say this are using it as an excuse to justify thier childrens rage or stupidity....god forbid there kids are moraly corrupt because of their bad parenting. Studies have in fact proven that video games improve reflexes and awareness in people who are regular gamers. In short video games are fun and condusive to a faster and more aware intelect.

Parenting>Video Games
All of this stuff is silly. If your kid loons up from entertainment, its because you failed as a parent. That goes for blaming music, tv, movies, video games, etc. If a parent does their job and teaches the child right from wrong, there isn't any outside entertainment source that will trump the reinforcement from a quality home.
