do you not think it's right that the father should get a mandatory vasectomy, because 1) it's a far less serious surgery, by far and 2) he participated in what ultimately led to the death of a baby and should be held responsible?

If he won't get a vasectomy, he is being a wimp. It amazes me when I see men with tattoos, and body piercings fearing getting a vasectomy. They have already endured much more pain than they will endure getting a vasectomy.

Your question is a little vague. How would his getting a vasectomy resolve a pregnancy that has already occured? That sounds like simple revenge to me.

On another topic, I think if unmarried women have the right to abort a baby without the father's consent, then those women have no right to demand the father pay child support. If the father has no part in the "legal" decision to give birth or abort, they should not be accountable for the decision the woman makes.

I don't think the father should get a vascectomy. I think the mother should tell the father to butt out, if she wants to carry the child. And then obviously the father should pay child support, because he was responsible for making the baby. Hadn't he heard of condoms?

The person above me has it wrong. The mother has the right to carry or terminate, because it's her body and the unborn child has no legal rights. Like it or not, that's the law. The father on the other hand, has a responsibility because when he chose to have unprotected sex, he knew the risk.

I think it's each party that is involveds responsibility. And that the woman should protect herself. It's a given that a man will not, so protect your own body and possibly the life of another.
