Not meant to be a mean question..I'm seriously asking. Obviously gravity and age takes its toll on every one, just wondering when most people noticed it.

I think I know what you're asking, just not sure about the way you ask it. People age differently and it bothers some people more than others. I think I noticed the biggest difference when I was 40. I used to say I didn't age gradually, I just woke up one morning and there was an old lady in my mirror. lol

I think it had more to do with me feeling old, than actually looking old. I'm 51 and I don't look much older than I did then. I have good genes from my mom, she's 72 and doesn't look it at all. Take care of yourself physically and mentally and you may never feel like your looks went to H. You'll learn as you get older that there's so much more to life than looks. May you grow old gracefully, best wishes.

Well let's see. I was really good looking up until I was about 25, then I was dumb looking until 35. By 40 I was basically a nerdy looking older guy, by 50 I lost an inch in height and gained 40 pounds, by 55 I lost another inch, lost 35 pounds but am still rounder than I was in high school. Now I am almost 60 and ugly. So you figure when my looks went to hell.

I fell apart at age 51 in a way that could no longer be concealed by clothing, hairstyles or makeup. That's when I gave up & decided to settle into being a "senior"! I'm 54 now & everyday is a new adventure with some waistband adjustments! No more trendy fashions...just comfort & affordability in natural fibers!

Hmmmm... that's a tough one. There's always been things I didn't like about my appearance, coupled with the occasional bad haircut. I can't really pin-point a specific time/age because it's all been so gradual. I can honestly say that using a good sun block for the last 15 years has really helped my appearance. No one believes I have a 18 year old son. Someone once said they thought he was my younger brother!

when I turned 40,everything started slipping, and hurting. whatever I had pointing north was now pointing south, and I started with all types of aches and pains. It was when I developed diabetes and arthritis too. I know that 40 is not middle age, but heredity for me is causing it . Both parents were ill and had diabetes by the time they were 40 and both had high blood pressure and both died in their early 70's. I haven't got a prayer to live a long life even with all the meds I take.

Oh, about 40 years ago. IF I had to rely on my looks to get me through life, I would be in sorry shape. I learned a long time ago that we are what's inside our heads that makes us, not the covering. Seriously, at age 45, I suddenly opened my eyes to ..... cottage cheese under my skin! I went into a funk of mid-life crisis, decided the energy it consumed was not worth it and left that one behind after about one week...Cottage cheese is a look, and I wear it well! To hell with it. I go through spurts of working out like mad, get all the 'cheese' off, then take time off (it is very hard to get back into it once you take time off) and the old cheese comes back far faster than it goes off. So I have resigned myself to a life of working out 3-4 times a week...it may not be entirely fun, but considering what it can do, it is energy well spent, and besides, it is a mini vacation from the routine of business. Love and peace, Goldwing

At 53 I am satisfied with my looks. I'm at a good weight. Just getting several gray strands have jsut begun coloring but not on a regular basis. I wear less makeup with age. Gravity is my greatest foe. Looks like eventually my bod is headed south.

My looks haven't gone to hell yet. Getting older does take it's toll on everyone. If you take care of yourself, eat a healthy diet and stay out of the tanning beds and protect your skin with sunscreen and get regular exercise and wear a smile everyday you will always look good. A good attitude will help too.

My 'looks' have changed, but it wasn't solely related to age, I was ill for well over a year, had surgery, and did not do the work I needed to get back in shape. I'm 49 yo now, and am working on 'reshaping' myself....;)

Despite being an out of shape, middle-aged, woman....I still receive plenty of attention. People still tell me I'm "cute", or "beautiful"....this has nothing to do with being a 25 year old hottie....or looking like one....I believe it has to do with my sense of fun, and 'charm'...>smile<

I do not believe my looks have gone to hell. Like fine wine, some of us continue to improve with age. Taking care of yourself, getting exercise and living well help the process. There are some folks who actually look better as they age.. Sean Connery is a good example of this.
