Isn't it sad knowing Ramadan is over and people are going to go back to things they don't do in Ramadan, we're going to go back to music, not going to the masjid everyday, not fasting until next Ramadan, not reading the Qur'an on a daily basis (not all people, some mash'allah 3alaihom)

Allah Yihdeena kolena gamee3an...

I was thinking this to myself last evening. I am going to make a special effort to keep a little bit of Ramadan with me in what I do, what I say etc each day for the coming year ISA.
I actually felt quite sad after we had returned from the masjid last night and never came online or answered any questions here.Instead I spent a few hours by myself just sitting up on the roof watching the stars and thanking Allah for leading me here and to Islam. It is hard to explain, but even though I had read books about it and talked about it with the iman, my family and friends the whole Ramadan experience is one one hand a very intensive personal experience and journey.
But it is also something that you also share with your family, friends and community.
There is nothing to compare it to, it is uniquely Islam.
I did at one stage make the comparison that it was like Easter,Christmas and New Year all rolled into one and then more. But that doesn't even truly describe it.
As the first Ramadan that I have experienced as a Muslimah it has been a very special time and one I will never forget ISA. To think how apprehensive I was as those days past and the start of Ramadan grew closer seems so insignificant and petty it is almost an embarrassment to me to admit it and I now wonder what people must have thought of me.
Hopefully they will understand.

We can encourage people then to keep at least part of what they use to do in Ramadan, next year they can keep more things.

If the person can't pray always in the mosque, he can at least pray once daily in the mosque. We should all fast the 6 days of Shawal. We better do it starting from the second day of the feast.

Sistablu : May GOD be always with you. Still there are many good feelings you'll experience specially when you'll feel how close and near our GOD to us.

well who ever does this is very sad... ppl should not follow there religion only on the special time of year it should be all year long... do you think God says oh be good only for one month then the rest of the year you can take off? No so the ppl who only want to do good for one month are not very good at all :) Dont be one of those ppl :)

edit: I know what your saying.. its just sore for me to see ppl in any faith only doing good for a few days a yr.. I once lived in a city with only lebanese during Ramadan every woman wore her hijab.. I swear to you the very day ramadan ended i seen very few women wearing them.. instead they walked the streets half naked... I know not all ppl are like this but I strongly believe if you want to serve God and your faith it should be 24/7 not just for 1 month or 2 days for a show:)

Whats even sadder is seeing people in Ramadan after iftar hanging out in and wear unsuitable clothes (with or without Ramadan) instead of praying tarawih or reading Quran.
There is this trend of wanting to "fashion models" going on esp with girls. God how superficial is this. If only these people would see or watch the mockery and attack we get from non Muslims they'd wake up.
I believe in the power of the individual, its definately not easy sticking to your religion and swimming against the tide, but its WORTH it!
Surround yourself with good people, read Quran on daily basis, pray keyam layl or sunnah, be moderate in your clothes and above all behave like a true Muslim.
