The UN looked good on paper but I think it's unworkable in reality.
It seems every time the 'UN' gets involved, it's U.S. blood that gets spilled the most, from Korea to present.
What America needs is a strong sense of nationalism and a 'screw em until they mess with us' attitude.

Since the United Nations proved unable to meet the hopes people had for it at its founding in the 20th century, it is unlikely that it will be able to do better in the 21st.

Since when DID THE UNITED NATIONS met any demands, other than meeting the demands of the rich countries and those who finance it. Come on. I learned so much and so fast about the UN when I was in Somalia. The UN and their "peacekeepers" reaching in high numbers from every corner of the world were UNABLE to solve a crises in Somalia. Ask yourself why do rich countries DO NOT deploy their troops under a UN ambarella. In Somalia, it was shoot first and ask questions later, in Rwanda it was "DO NOT ENGAGE" and watched 1000's killed. I can go on and on.. Look at the Middle East...

It failed at meeting the demands of the 20th Century, so I do not hold out much hope.
