Good Q. If there is a god, who made man in his own image then it follows that depression is part of the creators plan. If people accept the Christian god I cannot understand why suicides should not be allowed into heaven.
God is supposed to be compassionate towards the frailties of man; therefore I would have thought that, if there is a heaven, a person who commits suicide would be "allowed" in.
Just my opinion of course; have no plans to test the theory though!

Whether or not you go to heaven depends on whether you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior.
A saved person who fell into despair and committed suicide would still go to heaven, a lost person committing suicide would go to hell. The only unpardonable sin is rejecting Christ.
No one can be good enough to get into heaven without the grace of God through faith in Jesus, and no one is so bad that they cannot be saved by that same amazing grace.

Hope you aren't asking this for yourself--if you are depressed, suicide is not the answer, even if you think you will end up in heaven. It is up to God to decide when life is over, and suicide is a sin....if a person is still alive, that means God's purpose for him/her is not complete yet. Suicide is also selfish, in that it is inconsiderate of all the loved ones who will be left to deal with the pain of loss and will wish that somehow they could have prevented it.

Even if I knew God would forgive me, I certainly wouldn't want to meet Him on those terms, knowing that the last thing I did was something that was so wrong and displeasing to Him and hurtful to others.

OK, so, first of all, some of these answers are just not helpful. You can't 'shed this mortal attachment'. You love them, they love you. The guilt of what you're considering won't just disappear: you've admitted here yourself that in ending your life, you will bring immence pain into theirs. What you need to do is decide whether you can go forward knowing that. You've said your life is fine and that you're not depressed: I'm assuming that you're A) trying to gain attention/spark controversy with this question; B) suffering from some kind of physical illness; or C) depressed but don't want to label yourself with that, or maybe don't recognise a kind of numbness over your life as depression. If it's A), congratulations, you've achieved your goal. B), stick it out and get better, or explain your actions to your family - they might not like it, but it may help them to understand. C), go to a doctor, talk to someone about it, or even just try to keep living for the people you love, and maybe it'll get easier. I don't think you should commit suicide, and I think part of you doesn't want to either - if you were really ready, you just plain wouldn't care about the damage your actions would cause.

Most certainly not, committing suicide is a wrong and terrible way of ending your life. With the help of Jesus Christ everything will get better. By committing suicide it's turning your back on your beliefs.

Suicide does not get you into Heaven - if you kill yourself, you are doomed.

religious teachings particularly that of the Catholic faith prohibits killing regardless of reason....so when you take your own life that is still considered killing and you cant go to heaven...

No! You can't make life so you should'nt take it. I mean if someone threatens your life and you have no choice but to do it back to them then thats different.

That totally depends on what you believe. Either way, suicide isn't a good idea.
