Ask your boy Bush about what it is like to be the leader of an alarmist cult.
Telling the truth is not being an alarmist, but to accept the truth is being true to the facts. We were warned about the possibility for as long as I can remember, as far back as the 1950's and '60's. But it was ignored and pushed aside as theory. Well, evolution and creationism are theories, which of those are true? Global warming was theory at one time, now it's fact.
But if your not concerned about Global Warming, why bring it up. Is it possible you feel some guilt for your part of this planets destruction? Good. We all should.

Gore did not start any cult - he documented the general scientific consensus on a serious issue to the best of his ability.
While some minor inaccuracies in the findings of An Inconvenient Truth have been pointed out, the thrust of his film is accepted science.
It is the denialists that are forming a cult. As they become more and more marginalized (even Dubya gave you up - that had to hurt) they fire out at any source with unsubstantiated smears. You would rather believe lawyers on Exxon's payroll than scientific research.

Gore does not blame the US - he points out that it is mankind in general.
The attacks on China that have started recently are a clear sign of desperation. If indeed China has overtaken the US in carbon output (I notice you decide not to provide any link) thier population of 4 times ours would still see them putting out a tiny fraction per capita.
To blame the developing world after our development came at significant environmental and human cost is a very low act.

wow, at least nine answer before me and not one knows that the nobel prizes are named for munitions pioneer alfred nobel - the inventor who created modern gunpowder - kordite.

with all the money he made selling his arms related inventions, he started the nobel foundation.

the asker of this question has confused the name nobel with the word noble.

pretty sad example of how deeply uninformed the radical right has allowed themselves to become...

Absolutely nothing, unless you happen to be the psycho-liberal nutjobs who run the Nobel Committee. I think we can all thank God that those people only make up a very small percentage of the world's population.

totally agree BUT given the magnitude of the potential situation and factoring in a basic risk/ reward evaluation it is better to error on the side that Global warming is true and take responsible corrective action than to discount it and be wrong

What did it have to do with peace? The NPP was once an honorable tradition but in the last few years, it’s been little more then a promoter of one worldwide government, ie, it has been politicized. Very sad.

TRUTH does not =Alarmist
It's happening so get used to it. Question is: Are you going to be part of the problem or part of the solution?

Sorry, but I'll take Al Gore and his apocalyptic message a little more seriously when he stops blaming the US for man-made global warming and actually confronts China, who is now the number one contributor to supposed man-made global warming.
